Learn a language from your own videos on Android (offline)
Tools like Language Reactor work in a desktop browser on Netflix and YouTube. If you watch downloaded films, series or anime on an Android phone, VX Player gives you the same idea on your own files: subtitles in the language you are learning and in yours, at the same time, made on the phone.
How to do it with VX Player
- Install VX Player and open any video (MP4, MKV, AVI and more).
- No subtitles? Tap Subtitles → Generate subtitles. VX Player listens to the audio and writes subtitles on the phone in 22 spoken languages.
- Tap “Watch in (your language)” to show a translated line under the original one.
- Pause on a line and tap “Study a line”: tap any word to see its meaning, then Save it.
- Open Saved words to replay the exact moment each word came from, and Practice the ones that are due (short flash cards that come back after 1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days).

Is there a Language Reactor app for Android?
Language Reactor is a desktop browser extension. On Android, VX Player offers dual-language subtitles, word lookup, saved words and practice for videos stored on your phone, offline.
Can I learn a language from anime or K-dramas I downloaded?
Yes. Open the file in VX Player, make subtitles in Japanese or Korean if it has none, and show your own language underneath with “Watch in”.
