VX Player ("we", "the app") is a video and audio player for Android. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used. By using VX Player you agree to this policy.
1. Media on your device
VX Player reads video and audio files stored on your device solely to list and play them. This media never leaves your device — it is not uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or any third party. Delete and rename actions run locally on your device's storage.
2. Permissions we request
- Media/Storage — to find and play your videos and audio.
- Camera — only when you scan a QR code to pair devices for local file sharing. No images are stored or transmitted.
- Notifications — to show playback controls.
- Display over other apps — for the floating/pop-up player.
3. Data collected by third-party services
The app uses the following Google services, which may collect data as described in their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob (advertising) — may collect your advertising ID, device information, and app-usage signals to serve and measure ads. See the Google Ads Privacy and AdMob policies.
- Firebase Remote Config — used to toggle app features remotely. It may process a device/app instance identifier. See the Firebase Privacy notice.
We do not collect names, email addresses, or accounts. VX Player has no login.
4. Advertising ID
Ads are provided by AdMob using your device's advertising ID. You can reset or limit it in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
5. Children
VX Player is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
6. Data retention & security
We store no personal data on our own servers. Any data handled by AdMob or Firebase is retained under Google's policies.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
